I have never been so happy to be wrong: Indiana went BLUE!!! (thanks to the 27,000 people who voted for Bob Barr, but still, it’s BLUE!)

I woke my kids up at 11 p.m. E.S.T. to tell them it was Barack! But we knew when they called Pennsylvania at 8 that McCain was toast. When did you all know?

Vicky — When they called Ohio so quickly, I was sure.

It’s not nice to say but too hard to resist—I told you so! I knew it ever since McCain got the nomination. Romney, Ridge, Huckabee (in spite of Chuck Norris), would have worried me. McCain had already his previously more middle of the aisle tactics to get the nomination. He tried to please, so when he chose Palin, it felt like the sweetest frosting on any cake! I was wrong in thinking McCain might even lose his own state, however.

I couldn’t believe it when LB got tickets for the election night rally in Grant Park! It was beyond satisfying to be there even though my feet still hurt today. The patriotism I felt as a younger person just surged as the crowds said the pledge of allegiance together. I’m one happy American aware of the tasks ahead, but I trust Obama and his future staff to find our way out of so many messes.

On a more somber note, I sent some pictures and comments to several friends and one person responded with what I see as genuine fear of Obama. She sent me something written by a German woman, Lori Kalner, who warms of the similiarities between Obama & Hitler. I googled Kalner, & here’s a link containing her warning letter: http://rockintraddy.blogspot.com/2008/10/warning-from-wwii-survivor.html

Bush couldn’t rouse the masses like Obama or Hitler, but he certainly worked against the citizens of his country which does remind me of Adolph, not Barack.
