Here’s a birthday present for you, Jeff.  This does not give you the right to rub it in, however.  Just wait until next year!

It is just plain mean to post a picture of all that yummy cheese. Mmmm cheese.

How many of you have seen the California cheese TV ads: “Great cheese comes from happy cows. Happy cows come from California.”? In one of them, there’s a quick flash to a putatively unhappy cow, standing out in a Wisconsin blizzard. “Poor, miserable Wisconsin cow,” the ad implies, “your thin, sour milk is not fit for cheesemaking!”

Well, now we see this for the filthy lie it is. Your California cows are soft and decadent. Our Wisconsin cows possess virtue born of adversity. Their milk speaks not only of their fortitude, but also of their character, a Midwestern honesty and decency that your coddled, degenerate California cows will never approach, let alone match. Wait until next year? Ha! Our cows will bury your cows!

It’s true. All California creatures are soft & decadent. It’s an unavoidable gift from this beautiful place. Have you ever been to the Cowgirl Creamery http://www.cowgirlcreamery.com/index.html in Point Reyes, Calif? I warn you not to underestimate the power & drive that lies beneath the surface of our buttery, creamy wine skins. We can be tough when necessary. Just ask our governator.

Cowgirl uses Straus Family Creamery’s organic milk http://www.strausfamilycreamery.com/ where the cows & their humans have incredible water views from the verdant hills above.

Kudos to Straus, by the way, for being the first organic dairy west of the Mississippi AND for building their own methane digester which produces 95% of their electricity & charges their electric cars! So maybe this year Cowgirl didn’t win, but they made a good showing while reducing their carbon footprint. No sweat, man. Just peace & love out here………….

Cowgirl’s Red Hawk is out of this world. I haven’t seen it around here lately — maybe I’m not looking in the right places.
