Another Brilliant Sociology Grad Student

He and his off-screen partner go to NYU, not NU.  But as a non-sociologist, I think that their experiment, described in this video,  which quantifies the extent of the so-called “Bradley Effect” (i.e., lying about support for a black candidate) is ingenious.  What do you pros think?  The video takes about 5 minutes; the interviewer has a Band-Aid on his thumb.

    Very interesting. Side note: I want the ABF to have stuff like this featuring us on our website.

    Substance: Interesting. Somewhat predictable (I don’t mean that in a mean way, but I think we have seen this in the caucus states versus the polling primary states) in general, but the actual number (of people who are essentially lying about being willing to support a black candidate) is lower than I thought it would be.

    I wonder what these numbers would look like if you asked about a woman candidate?
