Excellent, Dude!

For a moment, let’s try to imagine what we think the President should say to the Pope after His Holiness finishes speaking at the White House. And now, let’s see what he actually said:

“Thank you your Holiness. Awesome speech.”

Call me an elitist, but that seems a bit informal for the occasion.

I’m no longer surprised at the stuff that comes out of Bush’s mouth, & this was just another low for him. Jon Stewart, has an hilarious 9 minute take on the whole elite thing & what qualities he wants in a president. If you want to see it, here’s the link:

In case that doesn’t work, go to the Daily Show site, the April 14 show, “Headlines-Gaffe-In.” Jon talks about having a president better than us. Get ready to laugh the whole time, but the best bit starts at around 7 minutes into it.

  2. I wonder how the word “awesome” translates for a native German speaker like the Pope. I know he speaks English, but the colloquial use of the term may only be apparent to us Americans.

Nonetheless, the President has reached a new low. Checkout this Bush interview that the White House has banned from reaching US airwaves — http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fze2J2Ve9is

He is so totally phoning it in–as Jon Stewart pointed out last night; the guy has nothing better to do than to pick up visiting heads of state at the airport . . .
