First thoughts:
Who cares if they’re ugly? Freshness & taste are the main criteria.
Our world values the outside of things AND people too much often overlooking what’s inside.
Old saying from my grandmother, et al, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” She was a great cook, by the way, & most of her veggies & fruits were chopped before eating anyway.
